I'm very saddened to tell you that our inteprid leader in the SC Goth scene, Sean 'Gobo' Kiely
passed away yesterday after a long and valiant fight against the cancer that took him from us.
He was surrounded by his family and he was in no pain.
Sean defined our scene and led us through some of darkest times and some of our very happiest ones.
Always concerned with the community he put an amazing amount of tithed energy into trying to both grow and
nurture the Santa Cruz and the South Bay Goth scene. He was always interested in creating interaction with
the South and San Francisco Goth scenes as well and DJed many clubs in the Bay Area as well as Santa Cruz.
Always intense and funny, he would always take time to listen to you if you had courage to talk to him about
ways that you thought the community could grow.
He was also passionate in fighting for the things he believed in and even during times when people disagreed with his
passionate stance on things, he always commanded a tremendous amount of respect.
He had a laugh that was really cute and infectious. He was an amazing dancer and a great DJ.
His passing leaves such a deep whole that it's hard to fathom what our community will be like without his presence.
Sean 'Gobo' Keily is dancing somewhere, in that sexy military uniform he wore so frequently....................graceful, intelligent,
sensitive and fierce.
We will miss him.
